The Markdown Link No. 2

Links that attracted my attention recently

An occasional post from The Markown Handbook.

Among today’s links are an interesting take on static site generators, a new release of Netnewswire, a tutorials and workshops update for Docsify-This, the latest update from markdown editor Ulysses, and a markdown-related update for LibreOffice:

  • Kev Quirk introduces his latest project, Pure Blog. He says: “[It] is a simple PHP-based blogging platform that has a lovely little CMS in the background to help you manage your content. Everything is based on Markdown, and all the content is stored in plaintext files, just like an SSG.”
  • Not markdown related, but if asked the question ‘what is the greatest invention of your life?’ what would be your answer. Here’s Om Malik’s response.
  • One of the first RSS readers, and still the best, Netnewswire 7.0 is out.
  • Hibbitts Design reveals a Tutorials and workshops update for Docsify-This.
  • Ulysses update v39.4: fixes for WordPress.com accounts, widgets’ issues and the ShortCuts app on iOS.
  • LibreOffice 26.2 now offers the ability to import and export markdown.
